1. Define 2-tier architecture with suitable example.
2. List the components of client server computing.
3. What is the effect of bandwidth on client/server computing?
4. What is socket address?
5. List the services provided by Operating system.
6. What is critical section?
7. List the challenges faced while conducting Business Process Re-engineering.
8. Define DBMS protocol and DBMS language.
9. How physical security for clients and server is maintained?
10. Define Network Management System.

Group “B” – Long Answer Questions: [5 X 6 = 30]

11. Define Remote Procedure Call (RPC). Explain distributed computing architecture.
12. Define middleware. Make distinction between ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) and JDBC (java Database Connectivity).
13. How index fine tune performance of database server? Explain DSS (Decision Support System) and EIS (Executive Information System) in brief.
14. Define UDP with its operational characteristics and application.
15. Write short notes on:

a. ATM and Wireless LAN
b. Processes and its states
