PCL(Proficiency Certificate Level) Nursing is a professional level education that can be studied after the completion of SEE in Nepal. PCL nursing is one of the prominent and popular disciplines within the Nursing profession. The course duration is 3 years and once one completes the course he/she can soon apply for the job in the hospital and in a different health-related field.
The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has developed a curriculum for PCL nursing in 2013. However, it was started in 1998 AD (2056 BS) by CTEVT. Before 2013, with the kind permission of Tribhuvan University (TU), Institute of Medicine (IOM), CTEVT started using the TU, IOM curriculum for PCL nursing.
Objectives
- To prepare professional certificate level nurses demonstrating positive attitude and respect for the profession and socio-cultural values.
- To prepare professional certificate nurses for providing quality nursing care to the people in the hospital as well as in the community settings.
- To prepare leadership quality as a professional nurses to work at basic level in nursing care.
